CHICAGO—Rightsize Facility Performance, an office interiors and facilities services firm which helps corporate clients transform or decommission their offices, has just acquired the assets of Quality Installation Services, a Chicago-based start-up that delivers, installs and decommissions commercial office furnishings in the Midwest. Several QIS employees will join Rightsize including former principal Andrew Dale, who will serve as senior account manager, overseeing sales efforts for the firm's services in the greater Indianapolis market.
This is Rightsize's second major acquisition this year. In May the company acquired the assets of Modern Office Interiors, Inc., an independently-owned and family-operated contract office furniture dealership based in Naperville, IL. Its latest acquisition expands its ability to handle non-union deliveries and installations for regional clients.
“We continue to look for ways to bolster our platform and service offering for our clients across the US,” says Rightsize founder and chief executive officer Mason Awtry. “QIS is a great fit for us and will integrate seamlessly into the company.”
Rightsize operates a 200,000-square-foot showroom at 5000 W. Roosevelt Rd. in Chicago, a design studio and sales office in River North, and provides workstations, desks, seating, file cabinets, conference and reception furniture, as well as continuing to take on decommissions, furniture buybacks and deliveries. It decommissioned about 3-million-square-feet in 2013.
As reported in GlobeSt.com, Awtry, who started the firm in 2004, has been growing the firm and also has ambitions to significantly expand its regional footprint. The company now employs 89 people.
