DENVER—Community push-back is surrounding a 30-story redevelopment planned for Country Club Gardens—a plan that was approved 12 years ago.
Community members are opposed to a proposed 30-story apartment complex at 1001 E. Bayaud Ave. in Denver, according to a report in the Denver Business Journal. The site is home to an existing multi-residential community. The new complex will keep the name Country Club Gardens, but will tear down 20% of the existing buildings and replace them with twin 300-feet towers.
The remaining apartments will be upgraded inside and out. A development agreement was approved by the city 12 years ago, the site notes, but residents of surrounding neighborhoods feel they were not properly notified about the project, and they are concerned with the height.
