MIAMI GARDENS, FL—As construction continues on the 62,000-square-foot shopping center here, the ownership of Palmetto Gardens Plaza reports it has inked three new lease deals at the property.
The new leases were signed with national retailers T-Mobile and Cell Phone Repair and Lee Nails, which has a number of other locations throughout the state of Florida. Construction on this portion of the plaza is scheduled to be complete by the 3rd quarter of 2015.
Work is also in progress on a new Walmart Neighborhood Store location, which will be the anchor for the center. The new 41,000-square-foot store is scheduled to open sometime during the fourth quarter of this year.
The building is owned by Palmetto Park, a joint venture between DZD Palmetto, a division of DZD Holdings, and Ver-Mac Properties 8, LLC. Principals Zvi and Daniel Shiff of DZD Holdings joined forces with Alan S. Macken and Andrew K. Verzura of VCM Builders to develop the seven-acre commercial property. VCM Builders is one of several real estate-related entities under the Macken Companies umbrella.
“We continue to see increased interest in this site, both because of its high-profile location and because of the optimal tenant mix,” states Alan S. Macken, a principal of Palmetto Gardens Plaza. “With Walmart Neighborhood Store offering groceries and pharmaceuticals exclusively, we attract a diverse tenant pool.”
