ARLINGTON, VA—After finishing a $20-million renovation and repositioning of the property, Westin Hotels & Resorts reports it has opened its third Westin hotel in Arlington—The Westin Crystal City.

HEI Hotels & Resorts of Norwalk, CT owns and manages the 220-room former Sheraton Hotel that is located in the heart of Arlington's Crystal City neighborhood and one minute from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Westin has 200 hotels and resorts in nearly 40 countries and territories, and is owned by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. of Stamford, CT.

The Westin Crystal City features 16,000 square feet of meeting facilities, including 11 meeting rooms. Other amenities include a newly refurbished Nutrio Restaurant and Bar that offers Mediterranean cuisine, a WestinWORKOUT studio, and a 24-hour business center.

“We are thrilled to reposition this ideally located hotel as a Westin and expect to attract both business and leisure travelers with the brand's distinctive wellness positioning and innovative brand-led programming,” says Anthony Rutledge, CEO, HEI Hotels & Resorts. “The Westin brand is a great fit for Crystal City and will help meet the demand for high-caliber lodging in this thriving business and retail center, just minutes from the nation's capital.”

“The strategic conversion of The Westin Crystal City resulted in another great addition to the growing Westin portfolio, within close proximity of both the airport and leading area attractions,” says Brian Povinelli, global brand leader for Westin Hotels & Resorts and Le Méridien Hotels. “At this freshly renovated hotel, guests can revitalize and recharge with the help of all the Westin brand's signature programs and amenities, designed to send them home feeling better than when they arrived.”
