WOODBRIDGE, NJ—Onyx Equities has assumed management of more than 3.5 million square feet of office, retail, industrial and residential space during the first two quarters of 2014, with a significant portion of these properties located in Virginia and Maryland. Namely, 11 of the 14 properties added to Onyx's portfolio were located in these two states, for a total of 1.1 million square feet.
Some of these properties include:
· A 147,000-square-foot industrial complex in Waldorf, MD, that currently houses 12 tenants including Sears and Fed-Ex.
· A 119,241-square-foot, four-building, campus-style office park in Manassas, VA. Located in Prince William County, the office park is home to 23 tenants and is located across from the Bull Run shopping center.
· A 103,173-square-foot, five-story office building in Fairfax County.
These assignments are part of the company's expansion of its receivership and REO management business into the Mid-Atlantic region. REO and receivership properties in general, says Jon Schultz, co-founder and managing principal, "continues to be a rapidly growing business area for Onyx."
