WASHINGTON, DC—Metro has selected a team led by McLean, VA-based Streetscape Partners, LLC to develop a 15-acre parcel near the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Station.
Streetscape has proposed to build 550 residential units at the site and 6,000 square feet of retail space. Metro received three proposals for the Grosvenor site. Streetscape bested proposals from MRP Realty and Four Points LLC, according to the Washington Business Journal.
The proposed development will be required to achieve LEED Silver certification at a minimum, Metro states in an announcement of the award. All existing surface commuter parking spaces will be replaced with a new extension to the existing parking garage at Grosvenor-Strathmore.
The development agreement with Streetscape is subject to final approval by Metro's Board of Directors. Construction is expected to begin in 2019. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
