WASHINGTON, DC—While the General Services Administration has canceled a pre-solicitation for construction management services, the agency says the renovations to the Center Building will proceed as planned.
Jackeline Stewart, a spokesperson for the GSA, says that the agency will in fact move ahead with the next phase of the Department of Homeland Security consolidation and expects to award a contract for the renovations to the Center Building by the end of the fiscal year, according to the Washington Business Journal.
GSA Administrator Dan Tangherlini has said that no matter what transpires with the federal budget there is enough funding for the Center Building renovation project, which has been estimated to cost between $100 million and $140 million. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
