MIAMI—National building contractor Suffolk Construction is relocating its offices here to nearly 15,000 square feet of leased space at the One Biscayne Tower.

The deal announced by Taylor & Mathis of Florida, the exclusive leasing agent for the One Biscayne Tower property, will involve the relocation and expansion of Suffolk Construction's offices in the airport submarket. According to Southeast Construction's website, its Miami offices are currently located at 701 Waterford Way in Miami. Suffolk Construction is headquartered in Boston and also has Southeast offices in West Palm Beach and Fort Meyers, FL.

The 39-story One Biscayne Tower totals 1.07 million square feet. The building was completed in 1974 and significantly renovated in 1990. The Suffolk transaction was negotiated by Taylor & Mathis' Ryan Holtzman, who represented the building owner, and co-broker Lance Benson of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, who represented the tenant.

“Suffolk is excited to expand into a larger and more collaborative space in Miami. Not only are the views phenomenal, but the central location of One Biscayne Tower will allow us to better serve our clients and partners in the area,” says John Planz, vice president of Miami operations for Suffolk Construction. Suffolk Construction is currently managing construction of Met3, Jade Signature, Sinai Residences, and The Jewel of Sarasota and will oversee the Miami Worldcenter and the All Aboard Florida Miami Terminal.

Taylor & Mathis' Holtzman says of the lease deal with Suffolk Construction, “The leasing momentum we are seeing downtown and in particular at One Biscayne Tower is unprecedented in recent times. We are thrilled to add another top notch firm to our tenant roster with even more on the way.”
