CAMBRIDGE, MA—Nano Terra has leased nearly 13,000 square feet of lab//office space at 735-737 Cambridge Ave. here and has relocated its operations from 50 Soldiers Field Place in Brighton, MA.

The 12,972 –square-foot lease transaction was announced by Avison Young. Jack Kerrigan, principal, and Colin Whitney, an associate with Avison Young's Boston office, represented the building owner Spinelli Commercial Properties in the deal. Cushman & Wakefield represented Nano Terra in the lease negotiations.

“735-737 Concord Ave. provides an excellent real estate solution for Nano Terra, a rapidly growing company that wanted to be in the West Cambridge market,” Kerrigan says. “As a knowledgeable and hands-on owner, Rachele Depamphilis, CEO of Spinelli Commercial Properties, was a key player in bringing this deal to completion.”

Nano Terra develops and commercializes transformational products using expertise in surface science, printing, chemistry, prototyping, and engineering/modeling. Founded in 2006, Nano Terra has worked with more than 30 Fortune 1000-sized customers in industries such as consumer goods, oil and gas, and aerospace.

“The Alewife submarket is unique in that it offers multiple public transportation options with convenient access to suburban labor pools, as well as lower occupancy costs than in nearby Kendall Square,” adds Brendan Carroll, vice president of research at Avison Young. “A 10-year median vacancy rate of 7.4% showcases the value tenants place on this location.”
