LOS ANGELES—In a move toward growing and unifying its capital markets business, CBRE Group Inc. has promoted Brian Stoffers to global president, debt and structured finance. Stoffers has led the Americas debt and structured finance practice, which has originated nearly $112 billion in loans since 2007, and has also served as COO of capital markets.

In his new role, Stoffers is charged with helping to expand and integrate CBRE's debt and structured finance platform globally, with practices in the Americas, Asia Pacific, and EMEA reporting to him directly. Service lines include global loan servicing, loan sale advisory and investment banking. In turn, Stoffers, who's been with CBRE since its days as Coldwell Banker Commercial in 1981, will continue to report to Chris Ludeman, global president, capital markets.

“Our debt and structured finance business line is closely aligned with our sales business and together with our investment banking group creates the service spectrum that clients demand from CBRE as the global market leader,” says Ludeman. He adds that Stoffers' vision for the business globally “will enhance our ability to serve customers with the highest levels of consistent advice and execution.”

Concurrently with Stoffers' promotion, CBRE has named Jeff Majewski COO of capital markets, Americas. He joined the firm in 2012 as COO of debt and equity finance.
