RICHMOND—Stone Brewing Co. of Escondido, CA, has settled on Richmond's Fulton Bottom submarket as the site for its 192,800-square foot production and distribution facility. Aided by JLL, it winnowed through some 300 responses to its RFP for an East Coast facility to eventually settle on a spot located at the intersection of Williamsburg Ave. and Nicholson St.
The City of Richmond Economic Development Authority will build the facility. There will also be a bistro and retail store located in the nearby Intermediate Terminal building.
Besides evaluating the proposed sites, JLL also helped Stone Brewing weigh such various metrics as water quality, supply chain and other incentives. Richmond was the top choice given its location and access to the James River.
The city's thriving artisan and craft food and beverage scene also was a factor, according to Scott Keeton, Vice President, JLL and local lead for the project.
