BALTIMORE—The General Services Administration has begun its process to sell the 1.1-million-square-foot Metro West facility here.
The GSA is first offering the building located on two city blocks to other federal agencies. Afterwards, the property that sits on almost 11 acres, will then be made available to state and local government organizations, according to the Baltimore Business Journal.
Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has formed an advisory committee, co-chaired by Rawlings-Blake and University of Maryland Baltimore president Dr. Jay Perman, to help determine the future use of Metro West.
The Social Security Administration vacated the complex for new offices on Wabash Avenue earlier this year and the downtown property has been vacant ever since. See story in the Baltimore Business Journal.
