Lease Transactions Mount in Northern Virginia

SPRINGFIELD, VA—There has been a flurry of new leases in Northern Virginia in recent weeks, according to the brokers that have arranged them.

NAI KLNB reports it has brokered four leases totaling approximately 142,000 square feet of retail and industrial space; for the quarter it has inked more than 450,000 square feet in nine separate transactions. In one deal Mr. Floor signed a lease for 64,578 square feet  at 5617 Industrial Dr., here with Marc Tasker and Kevin Goeller representing Prologis.

AT&T signed a lease for 22,600 square feet at 8308 Cinder Bed Rd. in Newington, VA with Tasker and Crowder representing the landlord Curtis Investments. DynCorp is taking 30,560 square feet at 7001 Newington Rd. in the Gunston Industrial Park also in Newington. Tasker, Ryan Moody and Josh Simon repped the landlord, PS Business Parks.

Also, Habitat for Humanity signed a lease for 25,466 square feet at 4311 Walney Rd. in the Walney Business Center in Chantilly, with Tasker and Moody representing the landlord, CIII Realty Services.

Other NAI KLNB activity included a ten-year 129,580 square foot lease and the sale of 4.4 acres of land at Patriot Business Center, as well as four leases totaling approximately 180,000 square feet of space at Airport Commerce Center near Washington-Dulles International Airport. NAI KLNB's Tasker and Goeller represented the landlords in these transactions.

BECO Management has signed 20,000 square feet of leases in its Northern Virginia portfolio, split among three new tenants: Benchmark Health Systems and ASK Staffing both signed leases at 505 Huntmar Park Dr. in Herndon Square Office Park and PEG took space at 3975 Fair Ridge Dr. in the Fifty West Corporate Center. Amy Gresinger, Vice President of Leasing for BECO Management represented the landlord in the transactions.

Benchmark Health Systems, which is relocating from Reston, and ASK Staffing were both represented by Eamon McCrann and Jeb Prossner of Lincoln Property Co. PEG, LLC is relocating from Fairfax, and was represented by Marc Bassin of Jones Lang LaSalle.

Herndon Square Office Park is a three-story, 92,920 square foot office near Reston Town Center, Route 28 and the Dulles Toll Road. Fifty West Corporate Center, located near Route 66 and Route 50, is a five-story, 203,000 square foot building.
