BRYN MAWR, PA—Construction could begin early next year on the $20-million mixed-use Bryn Mawr Village project here.

The project to be developed by Blank Aschkenasy Properties at 909 Lancaster Ave. calls for approximately 35,000 square feet of retail space and 17,000 square feet of office space, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.

"Bryn Mawr is really the center and the heart of Lower Merion in many ways," says Paul Aschkenasy, president of West Conshohocken, PA-based Blank Aschkenasy Properties. "These two blocks have struggled and there has be en a hole in this area for a long time. For that market, it has been somewhat of a blight."

The company is now in the regulatory approval process for the venture. Scott Williams of Avison Young is handling the leasing of the office space while Steve Niggeman of Metro Commercial Real Estate is overseeing the retail leasing component of the project. Construction on Bryn Mawr Village is expected to be completed by the fall of 2015. See story in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
