WASHINGTON, DC—The second phase of the planned $15-million renovation of the Embassy Row Hotel here is about to begin.
In the next five months, hotel owner Lowe Enterprises plans to perform a makeover of all 231 guestrooms at the Dupont Circle-based facility. Other improvements planned include a new restaurant as well as a new ballroom to be built alongside 6,250 square feet of meeting space on the hotel's lower level, according to the Washington Post.
The hotel's ballroom was already gutted in order to make way for a new lobby. The last round of renovations at the hotel was in 1997, when it was still owned by Hilton Worldwide. Lowe Enterprises purchased the hotel in 2013.
The Embassy Row Hotel is one of a number of DC area hotels taking on capital improvement projects. For example, the Mayflower Renaissance Washington is undergoing a $20-million renovation and last week the owner of the Embassy Suites at the Chevy Chase Pavilion announced it will undertake a $10.5-million capital improvement program at the property.
