LAWRENCE, NJ—Retailer Costco has acquired 17 acres of land near the Quaker Bridge Mall for $9.4 million for a new store here.
The site plan for the project calls for a 156,000-square-foot store that will include a liquor store a pharmacy, an optical services section, a tire sales and installation center, and a 16-pump gas station on a separate portion of the property, according to the Times of Trenton.
The property was acquired from the United States Land Resources of Morristown. There's currently 200,000 square feet of industrial space on the site that must be demolished before Costco can build its new store, according to U.S. Land Resources official.
Township manager Richard Krawczun says the township has been led to believe that construction could begin on the Costco store in the spring of 2015. See story in the Times of Trenton.
