WASHINGTON, DC—NOMA Workspaces is taking 22,111 square feet at First Potomac Realty's building at 840 First Street, NE.
840 First Street, NE is a twelve-story office totaling 248,536 square feet. It is next to Union Station in the NoMa submarket. This new lease brings the building to 98% occupancy.
NOMA Workspaces was represented by Glenn Meltzer of the Fred Ezra Co.
The lease represents First Potomac's strategy of focusing on core buildings in the city. For instance, earlier this year the REIT acquired 11 Dupont Circle with plans to invest in its upgrades.
Meanwhile, in another Capitol Hill holding, First Potomac recently inked a full floor lease with Alliance Defending Freedom. The association is relocated to 440 First St., NW, taking 14,796 square feet and bringing the 140,000-square foot building to 45% occupancy. First Potomac Realty Trust acquired the 140,000-square foot property in 2011 for $15.3 million. It then did a full-building renovation, which delivered in October 2013.
