ATLANTA—Association management veteran Jim Fowler has joined the Atlanta Apartment Association as the trade organization's president.

In his new post, Fowler oversees a 13-employee staff and coordinates the activities and services of AAA, the nation's third largest apartment association. He has more than 20 years of association management experience. “I am honored to join this prestigious association, and I look forward to overseeing and engaging in all of the wonderful work AAA does,” Fowler says.

“AAA is highly regarded in the multifamily industry for its top-notch educational programs and its considerable charitable efforts and commitment to its community. I am immensely proud to be a part of this team.” “We are tremendously excited about Jim joining AAA,” says David Hirsch, chairman of AAA and ECI Group Inc. “There is no doubt that his deep experience and expertise in association management will provide top-notch guidance and leadership for AAA during this very exciting time for the multifamily industry.”

Prior to joining the AAA, Fowler was vice president at Kellen Company, a global association management services company, which provides association management services. While at Kellen, Fowler served as executive vice president of the Research Chefs Association, an international, 2,000-member professional society, and as executive director of the International Flight Services Association, a 350-member trade organization serving the airline catering industry.

Fowler also is a member of the American Society of Association Executives, serves on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Society of Association Executives, and is chair-elect of the GSAE Executive Committee.
