CHESTER, PA—Construction and engineering firm Day & Zimmermann will open a new office here that will create 98 new jobs over the next three years.
State officials announced the Philadelphia-based firm's expansion late last week. The company has signed a 17,500-square-foot lease at The Wharf at Rivertown office complex here.
The company plans to invest more than $1.12 million at the new site. Day & Zimmermann has more than 21,000 employees in 24 states. The division to be housed in the Chester office will relocate from space in Wilmington DE, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.
“We're thrilled to take this next step in our businesses' evolution and diversification,” says Rick Domyslawski, executive vice president of engineering at Day & Zimmermann. “Our new location will enable us to not only expand our workforce by tapping into the southeastern Pennsylvania professional talent, but will position us to better serve our customers now and for years to come.”
The project was coordinated by the Governor Tom Corbett's Action Team. The company received a funding proposal from the Department of Community and Economic Development, including $294,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits.
