OAKBROOK TERRACE, IL—As reported in GlobeSt.com, New York-based American Realty Capital Healthcare Trust II, Inc. recently completed one of the largest medical office portfolio sales in the Midwest this year, and has just selected NAI Hiffman to manage the 161,884-square-foot portfolio of five medical office buildings in Northwest Indiana.

The move deepens the relationship between the two companies. ARC has been expanding its portfolio in several Midwest markets and since 2013 it has selected the Oakbrook Terrace, IL-based NAI Hiffman to manage 13 properties with a total of about 600,000-square-feet of space.

The new portfolio is anchored long-term by Franciscan Alliance Inc., one of the largest Catholic health care systems in the Midwest. The five buildings include a Franciscan medical mall campus of three buildings at 757—761 45th St. in Munster, IN; and two Franciscan multi-specialty facilities at 2001 US 41 in Schererville, IN and 919 Main St. in Dyer, IN. All of the buildings have long term leases. ARC paid $46 million for the portfolio.

“NAI Hiffman's team has the experience and expertise best suited for this market,” says Sean Leahy, vice president of asset management for ARC. “Having worked with NAI Hiffman on similar assets, I am confident their team will provide exceptional service to our tenants to ensure the project's success.”

ARC Healthcare first hired NAI Hiffman to manage and lease Rush-Copley's medical office buildings in Aurora, IL. And in the past year, it has also selected NAI Hiffman to manage 3340 S. Park Ave. in suburban Berwyn and 10837 S. Cicero Ave. in Oak Lawn.

“We have a great success story already with ARC's medical office buildings across the Chicagoland market,” says Bob Assoian, managing director with NAI Hiffman's management services team, “and look forward to doing the same with these five quality assets in Indiana.”
