WASHINGTON, DC—Former Penzance managing director Thomas Ikeler has joined locally-based development firm PN Hoffman as executive vice president/chief investment officer and principal.

Ikeler's responsibilities at the development firm of urban mixed-use properties will include identifying and executing new strategic initiatives to expand the company's investment and development platforms, including overall responsibility for capital markets and project finance.

“Tom brings 35 years of senior level leadership experience to the PN Hoffman team,” says Monty Hoffman, CEO of PN Hoffman. “With his success in establishing, growing and managing entrepreneurial divisions, Tom will be an asset to the ongoing expansion of our firm.”

While serving as managing director at Penzance, Ikeler was responsible for arranging transactions totaling $1.6 billion. At Penzance, he recapitalized properties totaling 850,000 square feet, led a portfolio expansion of an additional 900,000 square feet and secured mixed-use development opportunities totaling 1.6 million square feet throughout the Washington DC transit served infill submarket.

Ikeler's previous roles included building a national investment banking practice for Jones Lang LaSalle, co-managing a $600-million IPO for Security Capital Group, and shaping Oliver Carr Co.'s suburban infill investment/development division. He has also helped shepherd three of the region's largest development undertakings, including the Carlyle project, the Ronald Reagan Building, and Potomac Yards.
