ALAMEDA, CA—Apparel company VF Outdoors plans to build a 55,288-square-foot innovation lab at its corporate campus in Alameda.

Last month local officials approved the company's plans for its innovation, warranty and digital lab, according to the San Francisco Business Times. The project is expected to be completed to by early 2016 .

VF Corp., is the parent company for the North Face, JanSport and Lucy clothing brands. In 2012, it moved its Americas headquarters to Harbor Bay Business Park, after building a 160,000-square-foot phase one campus there.
