RESTON, VA—Developer Comstock Partners reported on Monday that it plans to develop a Union Market-styled retailer center at the Silver Line's Wiehle-Reston East station.
The Stock Market @ Reston Station is promised by Comstock officials to be an “urban, hip marketplace and retail space” for the now vacant 11,000-square-foot building, according to Reston Now.
“It is just what the community needs,” says Comstock spokeswoman Maggie Parker. “From a commuter getting a cup of coffee to couple looking for a night out with music and great dining.”
The Stock Market is a project developed by Michael Holstein, an area entertainment lawyer and restaurateur. “We were initially contacted by Comstock about six months ago,” says Holstein. “What we saw was a beautiful, blank canvas. We couldn't ask for better visibility or access to Metro.”
Holstein says he is very close to signing some well-known national tenants, although some space will be earmarked for Virginia-based businesses. Space above the retail center will in about five year house a new hotel. Nearby the market, the 450-unit BLVD apartments project is under construction. See story at Reston Now.
