WASHINGTON, DC—MedStar Health has agreed to lease a 112,000-square foot ambulatory care campus at Lafayette Center that Beacon Capital plans to redevelop. The reconstructed building will be located between 20th and 21st streets in northwest DC.
MedStar will occupy 92,000 square feet of the Lafayette Centre's Building 2, which will be renamed the MedStar Health building. MedStar will have clinical treatment areas and offices on six floors and a dedicated lobby off 21st Street.
MedStar will also lease 20,000 square feet of Building 1 on 20th Street. This space will be redeveloped as a sports medicine center.
The MedStar Surgery Center, located at 19th street, will also be relocated to the MedStar Health building. Primary care and specialty physicians practicing nearby will relocate their offices to the center.
The center should be operational by mid-2016. DTZ (formerly Cassidy Turley) will manage the renovation for Beacon Capital.
