CRANBERRY, PA—A former Four Points by Sheraton opened on Friday under a new flag—the DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh-Cranberry.

The 189-room hotel is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar capital improvement project that is part of its rebranding effort that includes contemporary design updates across the property, a new food and beverage concept and additional enhancements to its newly-updated guest rooms.

Hilton Worldwide states that renovations are scheduled for completion by late August 2015. The hotel has new all Pittsburgh-based leadership in its ownership of the Elmhurst Group and DiCicco Development, Inc., and management by Prospera Hospitality.

“At DoubleTree by Hilton, we strive to offer guests the 'little things' that add up to create a rewarding travel experience—starting with our warm chocolate chip cookie welcome and continuing through all touch points of our guests' stay,” states John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton. “With the guidance of the hotel's committed and passionate new leadership team, DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh Cranberry is poised to become the premier full-service hotel choice for business and leisure travelers in the market."

Among the enhancements to be introduced in the coming months include the addition of a new porte-cochere and an expansive, contemporary lobby featuring warm wood accents, natural sunlight and beautiful green space. The hotel's meeting and events space, which currently boasts more than 23,000 square feet of meeting space and the second largest ballroom in the market, will be fully renovated. The hotel's restaurant will also be revamped into a Made Market, DoubleTree by Hilton's exclusive food and beverage concept.

“We are very excited about bringing the DoubleTree by Hilton brand to the Cranberry community,” states Bill Hunt, president, Elmhurst Group. “Our vision for this hotel is to become a community hub—a Cranberry town square of sorts—delivering the globally-renowned DoubleTree by Hilton service culture both to guests and our local residents.”
