WASHINGTON, DC—CBRE has recruited Robert O. Copito to join the firm as a vice chairman specializing in law firm services across the Mid-Atlantic region.

A 34-year industry veteran, Copito joins from JLL, where he was an International Director in the company's Mid-Atlantic region. Copito has negotiated headquarters and regional office leases for AMLAW 100 clients that include DLA Piper; Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner; Hunton & Williams; Troutman Sanders and Pillsbury.

He also has completed a number of transactions for corporate client, negotiating more than $5 billion in leases for such firms as Boeing, ExxonMobil, Ernst & Young, E*Trade, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Savvis, Sprint/Nextel, The Center for Naval Analyses, and The AES Corporation. John Germano, executive managing director for CBRE's Mid-Atlantic Region, calls Copito "one of this region's most respected professionals."

Copito joins CBRE as real estate preferences by law firms are undergoing a significant shift. It has been a long-standing trend by these firms to downsize their space. In recent years there has also been an added focus on efficient use of this space, such as collaborative and environmentally-friendly work environments.
