ARLINGTON, VA—The American Diabetes Association will be relocating later this year from its current headquarters at 1701 N. Beauregard St. in Alexandria, VA to approximately 70,000 square feet of space at Vornado Realty Trust's 2451 Crystal Drive in Crystal City.
The ADA will be shedding about 15,000 square feet of space when it relocates to its Crystal City property that was one of the buildings the US military vacated as part of its 2005 Base Realignment and Closure plan, according to the Washington Business Journal.
Interim CEO Suzanne Berry says the lease deal in Crystal City allows the ADA to modernize its office layout. Its location also affords the association easier access to more restaurants and other amenities, such as Metro access, which they didn't have at its Mark Center office property.
The Crystal City building is also near Reagan National Airport, a key feature for ADA board of directors who fly into DC from all parts of the country for association meetings. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
