NEWARK, NJ—Anheuser-Busch plans to make some job cuts at its brewery here later this year.

Kevin Lee, general manager of the brewery, says 60 hourly positions are being cut because production of a bottle line at the site is being discontinued, according to the Star Ledger. Although no exact date has been set to implement the job cuts, the company is expecting the workers will be let go sometime in the second quarter of this year.

"We respect and care about our employees and value their work," Lee says. "We are confident we can work toward a solution that recognizes their hard work and commitment over the years."

The Newark brewery produces Budweiser and Bud Light and serves New Jersey, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Connecticut. See story in the Star-Ledger.
