MIAMI—Luxury housing developer ALTA Developers recently completed a brand new home in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami for a low-income family in Liberty City.

The Miami-based real estate development firm led by principals Henry Pino, Raimundo Onetto and Luis Jovel, completed the home at 1494 NW 73rd Street in Miami. Desiree Slater and her children were given the keys to their new four-bedroom, two-bath home at a dedication ceremony earlier this month.

“ALTA Developers is committed to the community – and we wanted to show that commitment by giving back in practical ways,” says Pino, principal of ALTA Developers. “I hope this partnership encourages others in our industry to partner with groups like Habitat for Humanity on these life-changing projects. It's part of being a good steward in our region.”

ALTA Developers funded the build, receiving volunteer support from its subcontractors in the form of time, services and materials. It took the team about six months to build the home. ALTA and Facchina Construction provided funding, materials and subcontractors; MC Velar Construction built the shell of the home; TDM Contractors built the CMU walls; NV5 conducted soil/density testing; Longitude Surveyors completed the surveying; USA Plastering handled the exterior stucco; Aurora Mechanical installed the HVAC system; Italian Kitchen provided and installed the cabinetry; Richwood Landscaping arranged the landscaping; and Nextdoor Co. provided and installed the interior doors. Hundreds of volunteers helped with installing drywall, flooring, windows, appliances, and landscaping, the company states.

"We were very excited when ALTA approached us for this unique partnership. By engaging all their subcontractors and employees they have made a huge difference in the life of the Slater family,” says Mario Artecona, CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami. “We look forward to a long lasting partnership and to helping many more deserving families together."

ALTA Developers is currently building Le Parc at Brickell, a 12-story, 128-unit luxury condominium in Miami's Brickell Financial District. The firm is also partnering with Terra Group to co-develop Neovita Doral, a 32-acre luxury townhouse/single-family home community in the City of Doral. The company and Related Group are co-developing the 270-unit One Paraiso condominium tower in East Edgewater, and the 167-unit Baltus House condominium in the Design District. It is also working with Greystone Properties to co-develop The Mile, a 119-unit luxury rental building in Coral Gables, as well as 2500 Biscayne, a 156-unit multifamily project in Edgewater.
