BALTIMORE—The city's Urban Design and Architectural Review Panel approved the design of the Point Street Apartments project in Harbor Point on Thursday.
The panel approved the design despite the fact it said it was only about 80% ready for approval, according to the Baltimore Business Journal. However, because the Beatty Development Group LLC's upper floors, outdoor amenities and roof design were acceptable, the panel approved the overall design.
The Urban Design and Architectural Review Panel expressed concerns about the building's lobby, entrance and first floor retail space and approved changes for the Planning Department to oversee prior to the project securing Planning Commission approval in the near future.
Jonathan Flesher, a development director with Beatty Development Group, says the firm plans to break ground on the17-story, 289-unit multifamily project this spring. The company has already begun construction on the Exelon Corp. headquarters nearby. See story in the Baltimore Business Journal.
