NEW YORK CITY—Real estate investment veteran Anthony McElroy, has joined Herald Square Properties as a partner, joining founding partners and principals Gerard Nocera and Michael Reid, as well as principal John Monaco. In his new position, McElroy will oversee the acquisition of all commercial properties for the group, which currently owns office buildings in Midtown and is the asset manager for such trophy properties as the Lipstick Building.

All four principals and partners worked together early in their careers at SL Green Realty Corp., where Nocera and Reid served as COO while Monaco and McElroy were SVPs.

“This is a team that has worked and done deals with each other for more than two decades,” says Reid. “Clearly, we share a common vision and understanding of how to expand our company in the most effective ways.”

Before joining Herald Square Properties, McElroy was senior managing director for what is now DTZ, in charge of acquisitions and dispositions for its New York Investment Fund. Throughout his career, he has continuously worked for top owners, including Fisher Bros., Olympia & York and Albanese Organization.

Throughout his career, McElroy has been involved in the acquisition of more than $2 billion of real estate, comprising over 11 million square feet in the NYC area.

Says Nocera, “We are excited about the addition of Anthony at Herald Square Properties. His joining the firm takes our group full circle and represents the culmination of years of hard work, commitment and tenacity.”
