ATLANTIC CITY, NJ—Hard Rock International of Florida was granted a Certificate of Compliance by the state Casino Control Commission on Thursday, which would fast track a state gaming license if and when the company, controlled by the Seminole Indians, applies for one.

At the hearing held in Atlantic City, Hard Rock CEO Jim Allen says that the company is not pursuing a specific transaction but is evaluating different opportunities, according to The Inquirer.

Allen said Hard Rock submitted a bid in January for the Revel Casino Hotel and held "unofficial conversations" with Florida businessman Glenn Straub, who will be purchasing the shuttered $2-billion casino for $95 million.

"It's certainly very intriguing just from an economic standpoint of a $2.5-billion building being purchased for $94 million," Allen said after the hearing of the Revel possibilities.

He added that Hard Rock is “100%” interested in opportunities that might arise if gaming were allowed in North Jersey. Hard Rock holds the rights to future gaming at Meadowlands Race Track. See story in The Inquirer.
