WASHINGTON, DC—While the funding is by no means guaranteed to pass muster with Congress, President Barack Obama's federal 2016 budget earmarks millions of dollars to the General Services Administration for a host of commercial projects in the DC region.

The Obama budget provides funding for the GSA to relocate agencies to more efficient space, renovate several federally-owned buildings and finance the Department of Homeland Security's St. Elizabeths consolidation, according to the Washington Business Journal.

The President's recently released budget calls for $227 million for a proposed cyber campus, including site acquisition and partial construction, in order to facilitate the federal government's expansion of its cybersecurity operations. A specific location has not been identified for the center.

The Obama administration also proposes to set aside $379.7 million for the St. Elizabeths project and another nearly $216 million for the DHS consolidation there. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
