WASHINGTON, DC—Aria Development of New York City is proposing to redevelop two Columbia Heights apartment buildings into one 170-unit property.

The firm is looking to raze the 61-year-old 1309 Clifton St. building and retain a 2,240-square-foot portion of the 30-unit 1315 Clifton St. building that was constructed in 1909, according to the Washington Business Journal.

The new development's 170 units will be broken down as follows: 22% studio, 66% one-bedroom units and 12% two- and three-bedroom units. A total of 10% of the project will be set aside as affordable.

"The proposed project will be an attractive new residential building on a central and transit-oriented site that has been underutilized," according to a statement submitted with the project's Planned Unit Development application. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
