ATLANTA—Locally-based home improvement retailer Home Depot reports it has begun the spring selling season hiring process and expects to fill more than 80,000 positions nationwide.
Among some of the major markets in the Southeast, Home Depot expects to hire 1,240 associates for its 62-store Atlanta market area. In the Raleigh, NC market, where it operates eight stores, it expects to hire 360 associates. In Charlotte, NC, Home Depot plans to hire 450 associates at its 10 stores. A total of 500 associates are expected to be placed at the retailer's 20-store Miami marketplace.

The Home Depot operates 2,269 retail stores in 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, 10 Canadian provinces and Mexico. In fiscal 2013, The Home Depot had sales of $78.8 billion and earnings of $5.4 billion. The company employs more than 300,000 associates.
