NEW YORK CITY—In its continuing expansion of its operations here, commercial brokerage firm Transwestern reports it has hired former Ryan McKinney and Rory Murphy as senior vice presidents.
McKinney and Murphy join Transwestern after having been involved in more than 3 million square feet of transactions in Manhattan. The additions of McKinney and Murphy, formerly of Savills Studley and Cushman & Wakefield respectively, follows the recent hire of senior vice president David Stockel. All three specialize in tenant advisory services and agency leasing, the company states.
“It is a priority to grow our New York presence with individuals such as Ryan and Rory, both of whom share the firm's mentality of executing a client-focused strategy that differentiates us from local competitors,” says Transwestern partner Lindsay Ornstein. “The New York City brokerage community is characterized by large firms operating like they did 20 years ago, with information only flowing up and down the team silos. Ryan and Rory embrace collaboration and the free flow of information, which fits perfectly with the strategy and culture we foster at Transwestern.”
McKinney will be responsible for tenant advisory services and agency leasing in the Midtown and Midtown South markets. He joins the firm from Savills Studley, where he served as assistant director representing clients such as Nike, Time Warner Cable Enterprises LLC and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Murphy will be responsible for tenant advisory services and agency leasing in the Midtown South and Downtown markets. Most recently, he served as associate director at Cushman & Wakefield. He represented tenants in the technology, media and nonprofit industries and worked on downtown agency assignments totaling more than 1.4 million square feet.
