SAN DIEGO—CBRE San Diego says institutional office specialist Matthew Carlson has joined the firm's office group as senior vice president. Carlson has been creating disproportionate value for the top institutional real estate investors in the region since 2004, says John Frager, executive managing director for CBRE's San Diego Region.
“Matt's expertise and extensive knowledge in the market will greatly strengthen the firm's presence,” Frager said. “He is an exceptional professional who serves his clients with integrity, creativity and distinction. We are excited that he has joined our team and will help lead CBRE San Diego's institutional office agency division.”
Carlson joins CBRE from Cushman & Wakefield, where he was a perennial top producer and led the San Diego landlord advisory practice. In 2013 alone, he completed over one million square feet of transactions and was responsible for leasing some of the most prolific buildings in the county, controlling nearly $1.3 billion worth of real estate for his clients.
A graduate of Princeton University, Carlson received a bachelor of arts in history and is a two-time national champion and 3-time member of the U.S. National Rowing Team. Prior to his career in brokerage, Carlson coached collegiate rowing at Brown and Rutgers universities while vying for a seat on the 2000 Olympic Rowing Team. He is a member of the San Diego Chapter of NAIOP, the Princeton University Alumni School's Committee, the Commercial Real Estate Committee at University of San Diego's Burnham-Moores Real Estate Program, a board member of the Downtown San Diego Partnership, a LEAD San Diego alumni and part of the competition committee steward for the San Diego Crew Classic.
