WASHINGTON, DC—Mayor Muriel Bowser signed her first Land Disposition Agreement this week in her administration. It is for a 2-acre parcel at the long-anticipated Hill East District Development, a 67-acre mixed use community consisting multifamily, retail and a public square that is expected to break ground next year and deliver in 2018.

The LDA went to a joint venture between Donatelli Development and Blue Skye Construction, the only companies to bid on these particular parcels, according to the Washington Business Journal.

The lots total 114,042 square feet of land area and front the western boundary of the Stadium Armory Metro, where the village square will be constructed, and the future C and Burke streets, the WBJ says.

"The signing of this agreement will advance this catalytic project and transform an historic neighborhood, bringing more affordable housing to residents in the District of Columbia," Bowser said, although as the WBJ noted, she did not offer a timeline on when the District may issue a request for proposals for the next phase.
