COSTA MESA, CA—Transit entities including ARTIC and OCTA were among the winners at the 4th Annual CREW Orange County Chapter's Commercial Real Estate SPIRE Awards, which took place at the Center Club here last week. More than 300 commercial real estate professionals gathered to find out who won awards for excellence in Orange County real estate in 2014 and to watch the winners be formally presented with their awards.
SPIRE, or “Superior Performance in Real Estate,” was created by the Orange County chapter of CREW, a national real estate organization. The awards event is the only commercial real estate awards program in Orange County. This year, California State Senator Janet Nguyen served as the keynote speaker for the event, while Steve Craig, president of Craig Realty Group, served as MC.
Awards presented this year include:
- Superior Performance in New Construction—Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center, awarded to Dave Burrus, Clark Construction Group—CA, LP; and Samuel Sims, Parsons Brinkerhoff;
- Superior Performance in Building Renovations—Christ Cathedral Tower of Hope, awarded to Bryan Seamer and Jim Winick, LPA Inc.; Jeff Cadieux, JLC Assoc.; Kevin Pitzer and Darrell Webb, MATT Construction; Amber Zamora and Joseph Hartline, Saunders Commercial Seismic Retrofit;and Barbara Lamprecht, Lamprechht ArchiTEXTural;
- Superior Performance in Tenant Improvements—Lionakis' Newport Beach office tenant improvement, awarded to Valerie Hoffman, Lionakis; Mark Thorpe, Thorpe Construction; Michael Props, Savills Studley; Matt Rapoza, Anderson Audio/Visual; and Ashley Proctor, Emmes Realty Services of CA;
- Superior Performance in Leasing—Orange County Transportation Authority, awarded to Peter Andrich, SVP; Rick Warner, SVP; and Matt Osborn, managing director, CBRE;
- Superior Performance in Sales—Bank of America campus sale, awarded to Jeff Cole and Ed Hernandez of Cushman & Wakefield's the Cole Team;
- Superior Performance in Lending—Outlets at San Clemente, awarded to Kim Surch and Ilya Voziyan, Wells Fargo as primary agent and lender; John Stephens and Brian Brown, Union Bank as co-agent and lender; and Cathy Janke, US Bank as lender;
- Superior Performance for a Woman in Commercial Real Estate—Holly Cindell, director, McCarthy Building Cos. Inc.;
- Superior Performance in Philanthropy—Cathy Janke, VP, US Bank, for her extensive work with Women for Girls and Girls Inc.
