WASHINGTON, DC—Skanska has recruited Brian Hanlon to join as vice president of the greater Washington DC operations. Prior to this move, Hanlon was first director of the DC Department of General Services, serving in that role for three years.
The billion-dollar agency was created in October 2011 to oversee the construction, maintenance and real estate management for approximately 30 million square feet of schools, parks, recreation facilities, municipal office buildings, and public safety facilities.
While executive director of DGS, Hanlon was awarded the 2014 Public Leadership Award from the National Association of Minority Contractors.
"Brian's vast experience and extensive knowledge of the area will help Skanska further grow its business in the Washington region," says Steve Skinner, executive vice president and general manager of Skanska USA Building, in a prepared statement.
