GAITHERSBURG, MD—Crown, a large master-planned community here, will be adding condos to the mix of property offerings. Michael Harris Homes/Streetscape Partners is slated to build approximately 128 condominiums with an industrial architectural flair in Downtown Crown.
Michael Harris Homes anticipates breaking ground later this year on a three-building condominium complex at Diamondback Drive and Copley Street. The units will range from single-level, one bedroom homes to two-level, two bedroom homes with a den. The three condominium buildings will be built in a post-industrial design featuring a factory brick exterior.
"We are very excited to bring a unique, new option to homebuyers looking to move to Crown," said Robert Zeiller, executive vice president of Westbrook Properties, the master developer of Crown.
Michael Harris Homes joins six other homebuilders at Crown. Ryland is currently offering stacked townhome condominiums and Bozzuto offers apartment homes above the retail podium. In the Crown West neighborhood, KB Home, M/I Homes and Pulte Homes offer townhomes and Wormald is building luxury, single-family homes.
