TAMPA, FL—An affiliate of Redstone Investments just snapped up The Austin Center, the Westshore district's first office development. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Built in 1967 by Al Austin—widely known as “The Pioneer of Westshore”—Austin Center is a landmark property located in the heart of Tampa's Westshore Business District. The development includes five office buildings totaling 300,000 square feet on 10-acres. The Austin family has owned it for 50 years.

“Austin Center is strongly positioned in the Westshore area and is well known to the Tampa Bay area business community,” says Redstone managing partner and co-founder Jonathan A. Levy. “We are delighted to be the new owners, as we have always admired the vision Al Austin had for the entire Westshore Business District.”

Orange groves, cow pastures, and pine forests surrounded the neighborhood when Austin built his first building off the corner of Westshore Boulevard and Cypress Street. Austin Center is home to large national tenants and numerous local tenants some of which have started and expanded over their many years on the property.
