WASHINGTON, DC—Minshall Steward Properties has been steadily leasing up its CBD trophy located at 2001 L St., NW. Over the past six months it and its broker, CBRE, have signed 89,000-square feet of leases, bringing the 10-story building to 85% occupancy.
Its newest tenant is the Urban Land Institute, which just signed a lease to occupy 33,481 square feet on the second and third floors.
ULI will relocate its global headquarters from its current spot at 1025 Thomas Jefferson St., NW, in Georgetown next year.
Other tenants at 2001 L St. include DKW Consulting, Japan Society for Promotional Science, Economic Consulting Services, Zenetex, and Centurion. Their presence is a reflection of the building's dramatic transformation, says CBRE Senior Vice President Kevin Howard. That transformation "has fueled market interest from tenants at a very fast pace."
The renovation of the building included the creation of a new office and retail space on the first three floors and the installation of a three-story glass storefront.
The building is currently on track to acquire LEED Gold Certification.
