LAUREL, MD—Aquilent, a communications provider for the federal government, is undertaking an expansion of its corporate headquarters campus here that when completed will facilitate a more than doubling of its workforce.
The company reports that the start of construction is imminent on the 35,000-square-foot expansion of its headquarters to a total of 100,000 square feet. Aquilent is a provider of mobile, web, Cloud and portal solutions for the federal government. The expansion will include an additional building at its corporate campus, as well as internal and external upgrades at the property, the company states.
“We are extremely excited for the upgrades and expansion to our headquarters,“ states Aquilent CEO David Fout. “Our new corporate campus will provide the space necessary to support our plans to hire more than 450 new employees during the next three years, and will be a world-class facility designed to support the culture and professional environment we have strived so hard to create.”
The company currently employs 328 workers. In addition to the new building, upgrades are to include a revitalized look to its existing space; new pathways; courtyards; a covered connector between buildings; and an expansion to its "Refresh Zone" cafeteria to include a private outdoor dining area. The project is expected to be finished sometime this summer.
