DANVILLE, VA—A 42,000-square-foot Walmart Neighborhood Market store is coming to the Nor-Dan Shopping Center here next year.
The addition to the tenant roster at the 161,428-square-foot community center was announced on Monday by property owner Cincinnati, OH-based Phillips Edison & Co. The leased store location is expected to open in 2016 and will employ approximately 95 workers. No terms of the lease transaction were released.
“The Walmart Neighborhood Market will be an outstanding addition to Nor-Dan, and we are excited for our center to host the first Neighborhood Market in the Danville area,” says Ron Meyers, senior vice president of leasing of Phillips Edison. “We are pleased to expand our relationship with Walmart and bring another Neighborhood Market to a community we serve.”
“We have a great customer base in the area and are excited to bring our Neighborhood Market store to Danville,” adds Walmart director of communications Amanda Henneberg. “Grocery is an area that customers have come to expect from Walmart because they know we can offer a broad assortment of fresh food at a low price.”
The Nor-Dan Shopping Center is anchored by Big Lots and It's Fashion Metro and is located at the intersection of Nor-Dan Drive and Rt. 29.
