BETHESDA, MD—Long-time company executive Lawrence Nussdorf has been elected CEO of commercial real estate firm Clark Enterprises Inc., replacing A. James Clark, who passed away two months ago at the age of 87.

Nussdorf previously served as chief operating officer and president at Clark. The company also reports that Robert J. Flanagan, who had been serving the firm as executive vice president, was elected to replace Nussdorf as president and will also take on the role of treasurer, according to the Washington Business Journal.

Nussdorf joined the company in 1977 as chief financial officer of its construction subsidiary. Shortly thereafter, he joined the parent company and, in 1998, was named president. As president and chief operating officer of Clark Enterprises, Inc., he directed and managed the company's investment activities, as well as its day-to-day operations. He serves on the boards of the Clark Construction Group, LLC, Pepco Holdings, Inc. and LEIDOS Holdings, Inc., formerly SAIC, Inc., where he is lead independent director. He is vice chair of the executive board of the Anti-Defamation League (D.C. Chapter) and a member of the advisory board of the Penn Institute for Urban Research. He was previously a director of CapitalSource, Inc. and a trustee of the University of Pennsylvania.

Clark Enterprises and its affiliates have developed numerous projects in the DC area including World Bank's headquarters, FedEx Field, Nationals Park and the Verizon Center.
