KATY, TX--The Orchard Assisted Living & Memory Care is celebrating its grand opening in Katy.

The 69,000-square-foot community, five-acre community, owned and operated by Stroud Cos., will serve nearly 100 residents and will create 50 jobs.

"We are thrilled to be a part of the Katy community, and we can already see the positive impact that we're making on the lives of seniors and their families," James A. Stroud, founder and president of Stroud Cos., told GlobeSt.com "We hire caring hearts to ensure that the residents receive exemplary care from our team members. We were very deliberate in our design and our staff training program when we developed The Orchard community.

The one-story development is pet-friendly and can serve 57 residents in assisted living and 40 in memory care. Larger assisted-living apartments are available with or without patios. There are currently three landscaped courtyards with walking paths, and plans are under way to build a dog park on campus.

“Our goal has been to use our person-centered care approach where residents and staff form meaningful relationships and the individual residents' lives are improved each and every day,” says Stroud. “We are proud of the residential feel that exists at The Orchard, and we look forward to serving more seniors in the Houston area."
