LOS ANGELES—The market, in many ways, is similar to 2006, according to Jeffrey Weidell, president of NorthMarq Capital, who says that, although there are some fears about the markets getting frothy, most lenders aren't ignoring fundamentals. Weidell sat down with us for an exclusive interview at the recent RealShare NATIONAL INVESTMENT & FINANCE conference in Downtown Los Angeles, where he talked about:

  • Trends in the capital markets
  • How lenders are staying competitive
  • Where interest rates are headed
  • What will happen to all of the CMBS debt that is expiring over the next two years

Weidell spoke on the "Debt for Every Deal: Lessons in Lending” panel at the conference, where he and his fellow panelists discussed the importance of looking at past cycles for guidance.
