MIAMI—Miami has long been known as the Gateway to Latin America, and deals like this just reconfirm that status. Sony Music has renewed and expanded its Miami office space at Mayfair in the Grove in order to continue serving the Latin American market.

Savills Studley represented Sony to renew its 20,800-square-foot lease and expands the space by about 6,500 square feet for an eight-year term. Savills senior vice president and nranch manager Robert Orban and associate Tyler Wyant represented Sony. Chris Dekker from JLL represented the landlord, Whalou Properties.

“By leveraging the strength of the Sony brand we were able to restructure the economics of the existing lease obligation, while garnering a generous improvement allowance for the entire expanded premises,” says Orban. The negotiations with the landlord, he ads, produce positive outcomes” for Sony.

Mayfair in the Grove gives Sony employees a strategic live work environment, replete with nearby amenities. The development is within walking distance to over 200 retail, dining, and entertainment options in Coconut Grove.

Sony senior director of Real Estate Management Jon Peragine commented on the deal: “As Sony continues to grow and add headcount it was important that the company have the opportunity to reinvest in the employee's workspace and this agreement allows us to do so.”
