LOS ANGELES—Ritson Ferguson has been given expanded oversight within CBRE Group, assuming the newly created role of global CIO at CBRE Global Investors. He will continue as CEO and co-CIO of CBRE Clarion Securities, whose predecessor company he co-founded in 1991.
At CBRE Global Investors, Ferguson will coordinate the investment decision-making and program offerings across the range of listed and unlisted real estate markets. While serving in that capacity and in his rules at CBRE Clarion, he will continue to report to Matt Khourie, CEO of CBRE Global Investors.
“I am excited to have Ritson step up to expanded responsibilities within our organization given his global perspective and his long tenure as a highly successful real estate investor,” says Khourie. “He will have a broad charter to ensure we have the best talent and appropriate structure to continue delivering leading performance and innovative investment opportunities to our clients."
Ferguson joined CBRE in 2011, when the company bought the real estate investment management business of ING Groep NV. Since joining CBRE, he has served on CBRE Global Investors' global executive committee and global Investment committee.
"We have an industry-leading investment organization here at CBRE Global Investors, and I look forward to working even more closely with my colleagues to fully capitalize on the power of the CBRE platform to deliver strong investment performance to our clients in both listed and unlisted strategies,” Ferguson says. The 30-year veteran of real estate investing previously worked at K.S. Sweet Associates, Bain & Co. and Trammell Crow Co.
